DL_ 2nd, April World Autism Awareness Day
On 27 November 2007, the UN General Assembly, declared on 2 April as World Autism Awareness Day. UN warns of a new reality in the world there are more autistic, which requires awareness, to reflect society about what is autism and is being done with people with Autism Spectrum Disorder. With disorder is the idea aside syndrome with increased medical connotation and the word spectrum is emphasized that all is not the same autism, there is no standard or type of a person with autism pattern.
Then the spectrum is not guided by a rigid classification. For this reason, the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a widely accepted term because there can be variability found in the manifestation of autism.
The causes of autism are not known. Hence can not be considered a disease. Current research seek their origin in genetics and understand autism as a neuro-biological disorder. There is thus a confrontation based on cognitive-behavioral and psychoanalytic theories programs.
While the first understand the treatments with a reeducation of what the child has not understood, the second shot autism as a radical defense of children in a world that interpreted as hostile. The guided therapy as a treatment of reeducation loses the possibility to understand what the child is building as their own to link up with the others. Political and social dimensions spend to acquire, with these two visions of the treatment of autism, a special relevance.
